What makes a great getaway break? How about staying in a castle; eating fantastic food and drinking fine whisky?
If that sounds like a plan then step this way.
Today’s Big Deal is for an overnight break at the magical Culcreuch Castle Hotel, near Stirling.
Set in the beautiful, 1600 acre Culcreuch Estate and overlooking its own loch, it is a special place.
Culcreuch Castle Hotel is one of Scotland’s oldest hotels with the main hotel building dating from the 14th century.
Today, Culcreuch Castle Hotel retains all the romance and charm that its heritage entitles it to, yet it has been sensitively upgraded to offer an excellent standard of comfort and luxury accommodation.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, satellite TV and WiFi.
Available 7 days per week, the Big Deal is for two people to enjoy an overnight break in a double or twin room at Culcreuch Castle Hotel with a hearty Scottish breakfast in the morning.
The offer also includes a £40 allowance towards food in the informal Dungeon Diner.
Depending on availability, guests may be able to upgrade to a Deluxe room with four poster bed for a supplement of £20 per room per night; arrange with and pay directly to hotel.
Breakfast is served in the Dungeon Diner within the castle’s 700-year-old vaults. For dinner, guests can look forward to dishes such as the popular house burger; steak ‘n’ ale pie and beer battered haddock.
Locally sourced ingredients take pride of place on the menu.
Culcreuch Castle has been a home for 700 years. This is what one of the more recent guests thought of their stay at Culcreuch Castle Hotel. We’ve cut it for length but not meaning:
‘Beautiful hotel. We stayed at Culcreuch Castle for one night, but wish it could have been more. A stunning location surrounded by trees and a beautiful lake, you could hear a pin drop it was so quiet and peaceful. Our room was lovely and overlooked the grounds. Dinner was served in a beautiful dining room, food was lovely, very friendly service… We would definitely stay again and next time will make it longer.’
