The twenty feet high windows allow ample natural light as well as views of the formal gardens. The setting offers a glimpse of early 19th-century fine living.

The afternoon tea lives up to the surroundings, comprising a mouth-watering array of delicious sandwiches, delicate pastries, cakes and scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve.

Guests can choose from a wide range of distinct blends of tea, imported by specialist tea suppliers from around the world.

There is a £10 per person supplement for Saturday and Sunday bookings.

Overnight stay

Those choosing option two can enjoy a luxurious overnight stay in a deluxe room. All the rooms at Mar Hall are individually styled and feature king-sized beds, Egyptian cotton duvet covers, internet access and an in-room entertainment system.
