Amaretto Ristorante & Pizzeria

Too often Italian restaurants outside the big cities offer only a cursory nod to the Old Country, with tired menus serving up the same old sauces and toppings.

There are notable exceptions though and Amaretto, located in Bridge of Weir in Renfrewshire is one such star.

Amaretto is a stylish and ambitious restaurant that has been around since 2007. The Di Ciacca family wanted to provide a bustling city centre restaurant in the heart of the Renfrewshire countryside and succeeded impressively. They deliver authentic Italian food and drink in a welcoming, contemporary atmosphere.

Available from noon to 9:30pm Monday to Thursday and from noon to 5pm on Friday to Saturday, today’s Big Deal offers a pizza or pasta dish for two diners, with a glass of Prosecco each and tea or coffee to follow.

Authentic menu

The Amaretto menu combines classic Italian recipes with some innovative touches. The pasta selection includes favourites such as lasagne, Bolognese and ravioli, alongside Fettuccine alle Vongole with fresh Scottish clams, Linguine Scoglio with scallops and king prawns, and Penne Cardinale with chargrilled chicken and roast peppers.

Pizza toppings offer something for everybody, from the classic Margherita to Quattro Stagione with pancetta, artichoke, mushroom & grilled chicken or the Cinque Formaggi with five Italian cheeses. For something spicier try the Diavola, with strips of marinated spicy chicken breast, roast mixed peppers & fresh chilli.

The meal is accompanied by a glass of Prosecco, with tea or coffee to follow.
