‘Marvellous hotel. We have just enjoyed another stay at Shieldhill Castle Hotel. The building is very impressive and the gardens and tranquil setting add to the experience. Inside the hotel is just as impressive and furnished in a style that compliments the building perfectly. There are interesting little areas round every corner. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble… The food is excellent with a good variety, well prepared and delicious with very generous portions. The restaurant staff are also very attentive, friendly and efficient. The only person who might have a complaint about the restaurant is perhaps Oscar the hotel cat who was gently removed when he tried to sneak in during dinner. A stay at Shieldhill Castle is an absolute pleasure and we would recommend the hotel and its staff to everyone.’
