Once tracked down, you will discover its considerable charms with lashings of old-school atmosphere. It’s a far cry from the corporate saminess of so many venues and the décor is just perfect for creating a party mood.

With decorations in place, it’s the perfect location for a Christmas works do or a family and friends get-together over tea, sandwiches, cakes and festive treats, plus whatever festive bottles you choose to bring.

Tea party

Available seven days, today’s Big Deal offers the private hire of the tea-rooms for 15 guests. Choose a 1pm or 6.30pm start. The duration of the hire is for four hours. The deal includes crackers, decorations, cakes, sandwiches, unlimited tea and coffee as well as special Christmas bakes.

If you want to increase the numbers, this can be arranged at a supplement for each additional guest.

The venue is not licensed but does allow BYOB at no extra charge, so it’s easy to get the party started.

The Hidden Lane Tearoom offers everything you need to ensure a vintage Christmas party. The spread includes a selection of finger sandwiches and rolls, mini Yorkshire puddings with roast beef and horseradish, chipolata pastry twists and hot-smoked salmon blinis.

Pastries include homemade Christmas themed cakes and bakes, and scones with cream and jam.

Tea is served in the traditional way at The Hidden Lane Tearoom – loose leaf in a proper teapot with a strainer. A 30-strong selection of black, green and chai teas are served, naturally, from vintage teapots and beautiful cups and saucers. Special Christmas blends are also available.
