For many people, autumn is the best time to explore Scotland. The leaves are turning; the heather is at its best and the risk of sunburn drops dramatically.
Make the most of this mellow season with today’s Big Deal at the Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa in Inveraray.
If you haven’t been to Inveraray, it sits on the banks of Loch Fyne, one of Argyll’s most stunning beauty spots.
Ideal for a romantic break, the Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa is the sort of destination that many of us would love to be whisked away to.
The Big Deal is for two people to enjoy an overnight stay, Sunday to Thursday, in a standard double or twin room at Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa. Full use of the leisure facilities is part of the offer.
Guests will enjoy a six course taster dinner menu and a full Scottish breakfast the next morning – ideal preparation for a day exploring the spectacular Argyll countryside or simply enjoying the hotel’s beautiful location on the banks of Loch Fyne.
All the rooms are en-suite, decorated in warm, natural shades and fitted with high quality fittings and furnishings including coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and trouser press. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel.
Locally produced ingredients are shown at their best by the skilled team in the kitchen. The six course taster menu changes daily but typical sample dishes might be a taster of smoked duck and berry compote followed by pressed belly of pork, apple jelly and walnut salad and then a pavé of lamb, roasted garlic and rosemary wilted greens, pan jus.
The food is complemented by an extensive wine list; many malt whiskies and a great selection of brews from Loch Fyne Ales.
The hotel’s spa features comprehensive leisure facilities including an indoor heated pool, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and the much loved, outdoor, Canadian hot tub. For an additional charge, spa therapies and beauty treatments are available in the Sonas Spa. Advance booking is required for spa treatments.
Out and about
Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa’s location is spectacular but it’s also ideal for exploring Inveraray and mid-Argyll. Nearby attractions include Inveraray Jail as well as golfing, horse-riding, hill-walking and fishing.
The hotel is also close to the magnificent Inveraray Castle (open until 31st October). The stately home was the setting for last year’s Christmas edition of Downton Abbey and it boasts beautiful gardens which beg to be strolled around.
The Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa has plenty of friends on TripAdvisor. This is what a recent guest had to say:
‘Great spot to relax and see Scotland. I only spent one night here but that was enough to be impressed with the hotel. It was clean, nice sized rooms with everything you expect and a helpful staff. Located right on the loch with a beautiful lawn, one can’t help but relax here. A few minutes walk and you’re in town. It’s a great location to tour this part of Scotland if you have a car. Would have enjoyed staying a few more days.’
