The building which is now the lovely Loch Fyne Hotel and Spa has a colourful history. During the Second World War, it was the HQ for Combined Operations Training.

King George VI, de Gaulle, Eisenhower and Winston Churchill all visited in the past and the D-Day Landings were partially planned there.

The hotel’s Clansman restaurant makes the best use of the fantastic local produce with menus split into sections which offer dishes ‘From the land’ and ‘From the loch’. The food is complemented by an extensive wine list and a great selection of brews from Loch Fyne Ales.

The Loch Fyne Hotel’s location is spectacular but it’s also ideal for exploring Inveraray and mid-Argyll. Nearby attractions include Inveraray Jail and Castle (closes end October) and golfing, horse-riding, hill-walking and fishing are all available locally.
