See & do

Portavadie, Loch Fyne is the perfect place for an active break. Known as Argyll’s Secret Coast, this area is great for outdoor activities. Go wild on the west coast with a host of adventures on land and sea, from cycling forest tracks to walking coastal paths.

Hire a bike or kayak or charter a yacht and explore the coastline with the wind in your hair. You might see deer, buzzards, otters, golden eagles, red squirrels and even, if you are very lucky, basking sharks while you are out and about.



At the height of summer, the fish around here are plentiful. You can fish off the rocks, local piers or by taking a boat trip. There are three, well stocked lochs only five minutes’ drive from Portavadie where you can fish for trout.

‘Just back from a two night stay in one of the luxury apartments. Can sum it up in one word – outstanding. Friendly efficient check in. Apartment was spotless, warm and comfortable. Everything you might need is there. The sauna is an added bonus and helps with the relaxing, which you will do plenty of.

‘Weather wasn’t great but it didn’t stop us getting out for walks and enjoying the fresh air and scenery. Then to come back and just drink in the view is amazing. As we were here as a family with young grandchildren we didn’t use the restaurant this time, but previous experience found the quality to be more than good. A comfortable, relaxing break and we can’t wait until our next visit. Go there – you will love it.’
