Copacabana beach and the banks of the Clyde are seldom confused.
However, while Glasgow may not have the sunshine or the silky football skills of our Brazilian chums, we can enjoy one of Brazil’s culinary success stories: the rodizio or barbeque.
Today’s Big Deal is with the recently opened Brazilliant Churrascaria & Steakhouse on Sauchiehall Street.
The offer is for two people to each enjoy the full rodizio experience plus a speciality Brazilian caipirinha cocktail.
Authentic Brazilian restaurant
Run by Brazilians, Brazilliant is a lively restaurant bar on Sauchiehall Street. Next month, the highly anticipated, laidback Latin bar will open in the basement.
Available from 5pm til 9.30pm Sunday to Friday, the offer is for two people to have the full rodizio dinner plus a speciality Brazilian caipirinha cocktail each.
The full rodizio dinner features fifteen different types of meat, all available as unlimited servings.
The choice of meats includes chicken thighs, sausages, pork and beef ribs, chicken hearts plus rump and flank steaks. Staff recommend the Brazilians’ favourite cut – beef picanha or the cap of rump.
Diners are also welcome to visit the hot buffet accompaniment as often as they like.
In the two or three months that Brazilliant has been open, it has attracted lots of enthusiastic reviews on the restaurant’s 5pm page:
‘Good selection at the buffet but the meat is the main attraction. Plenty of selection when we went on Monday evening. The cap of rump was out of this world and so was the leg of lamb. Definitely holds its own against the other Brazilian restaurants in the city.’ Rating 4.4/5
‘Brazilliant was brilliant. We booked this restaurant as we love meat and this sounded right up our street. From the moment we arrived the staff were very attentive: from welcoming us and explaining how it worked, to providing us with meat the way we liked it cooked, to noticing when our drinks needed replenished. The service was excellent. The meat selection was very good too and there were also soups, stews, salads and sides… We would definitely recommend a visit and will be going ourselves again too.’ Rating 4.2/5
You may never feel the sand of a Brazilian beach between your toes or score a goal that would make Neymar gasp.
Happily, you can eat like a Rio de Janeiro native with today’s Big Deal on a rodizio dinner for two.
