Taking a private jet is a luxury few of us will have.
By contrast, all of us can get a taste of the high life with today’s Big Deal on a private dining experience at The Grill Room in 29 Private Members’ Club.
Occupying two floors of a stunning 19th century sandstone building on Royal Exchange Square, 29 Private Members’ Club offers a smart, fashionable spot in which to enjoy a splendid meal.
Right in the hub of Glasgow’s cosmopolitan city centre, it is well known for its fantastic service, glamorous décor and award-winning food.
This private dining experience would be perfect for a birthday or anniversary meal with family; a business meeting or simply a great meal out with friends.
Available for lunch or dinner, Sunday to Friday, the Big Deal is for up to eight people to have a three course meal in one of the venue’s sumptuous private dining rooms.
Your exclusive experience will start with a Prosecco reception and, as well as coffee to finish, the offer includes a half bottle of wine for each guest.
Once seated, guests will be served The Grill Room’s tremendous warm, baked bread while they peruse the menu.
The exact dishes will change according to the ingredients in season. Typical starters might be the sesame and Cajun-spiced prawn spring rolls or the ballotine of Chinese-spiced, free range chicken and spinach with sour cream plus a pineapple and mango salsa.
Popular main courses include the dish of the day; lamb and mint sausages with creamed potatoes and the wild mushroom and truffle pappardelle flavoured with wilted spinach, pine kernels, pecorino cheese and butter sauce.
Char grilled steak
There is also the option to choose from the grill menu. Try the New York style strip sirloin; the boneless rib eye or double cut fillet mignon.
All the steaks are certified Scotch steaks which are char-grilled and served with Portobello mushroom, roast tomato and peppercorn or Béarnaise sauce.
All mains are served with a selection of seasonal vegetables and potatoes. Guests can also choose one of the following sides: hand-cut chunky chips, skinny chips, creamed potatoes, new potatoes, battered onion rings, sautéed mushrooms, seasonal vegetables or house salad
Typical desserts might be the chocolate and orange truffle bar with butterscotch sauce; the panna cotta with rhubarb, strawberries and coconut biscuits or the selection of farmhouse cheeses with fruit chutney and biscuits.
Lots of guests have enjoyed their meals at The Grill Room and told others all about it. This recent review is on TripAdvisor:
‘First class evening. We visited this restaurant for a family celebration evening… we were made very welcome from the minute we entered. We were well attended to by the staff. The food and service were excellent throughout the evening, with a nice friendly atmosphere. A special mention must go to Daniel, the waiter, for his amenable and efficient service. We will definitely return, can’t wait.’
This was from the restaurant’s 5pm page where it is rated a chunky 4.4/5:
‘Great as always. I really enjoy meals in 29 – The Grill at the Square. I wasn’t disappointed on this occasion. Great value for money and a super location after a day/evening of shopping.’ Rating 5/5
The private jet trip may be a very long way off.
