Looking at songs such as Dylan’s Tangled Up In Blue to Elvis’ Blue Christmas, good times and the colour blue have seldom been on speaking terms.
Today’s Big Deal with the colourful Collage Restaurant in Glasgow’s city centre Radisson Blu will change all that by introducing a culinary bright spot to look forward to in the New Year.
A rather eye-catching restaurant, Collage is decorated with works by Sir Peter Blake, the artist who created The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s cover.
The food at Collage is no less striking.
The chefs aim for a Mediterranean style with the occasional Scottish twist. The menu changes regularly but typical dishes might include delectable starters such as the cold poached salmon, the lightly spiced butternut squash soup or, of course, the haggis, neeps and tatties.
Typical choices among the main courses might be the pan-fried chicken supreme with Mediterranean vegetable or the goats cheese and red pepper brik parcel with a rocket salad and red pesto dressing.
The range of delicious desserts might include choices such as the raspberry and passion fruit mousse; a warm Bakewell tart or the Scottish cheeseboard.
Collage is popular with 5pm users. At the time of writing, just over 800 people had given it a combined rating of 4.3/5.
Today’s Big Deal is for two people to enjoy two courses from the Blu menu along with a bottle of house wine to share.
With vouchers valid from the 3rd of January to the 28th February (excluding 13/14 Feb), it would make a great Christmas present for friends or you could buy one for yourself and have a night out to look forward to in 2012.
