The Big Deal’s meteorologists have done some highly scientific analysis of the weather and declared that it is officially ‘taps aff’.
Celebrate the summer by taking up today’s Big Deal on a delicious tapas meal for two at either of the Café Andaluz restaurants in Glasgow.
Lovingly designed to replicate the atmosphere of a welcoming Andalucian bodega, Café Andaluz on Cresswell Lane and St Vincent Place are decked out with stained glass lamps, colourful ceramics and Moorish tiles.
They both have a lively, buzzy ambience which would give a Seville fiesta a good run for its money.
The offer is for two people to share five tapas plus a dessert each from the Big Deal menu at either Glasgow branch of Café Andaluz. The offer is available Sunday to Thursday.
With almost thirty different tapas to choose from, the only tough part of this Big Deal will be making your mind up.
The popular seafood section includes dishes such as crisp-fried baby squid served with garlic mayonnaise and lemon and fresh mussels cooked in white wine, shallots and garlic, finished with fresh cream.
The carnes section of the menu has options such as spiced lamb meatballs in a rich tomato sauce; sliced Andalucian black pudding with onion and apple chutney or, and this is a big fave with the Big Deal team, braised pork cheeks in red wine, smoked paprika, chilli and honey.
Veggie choices stretch from the cracking Spanish omelette and patatas bravas via a salad of asparagus tips, artichoke and sun-blushed tomatoes to roasted Padron peppers served with coarse sea salt.
There is a supplementary charge of £2 on each of the two prawn dishes on the menu. The cheeseboard is excluded from this offer.
The two Café Andaluz restaurants are among the most popular 5pm restaurants in Glasgow. Between them, they have been given over 4000 ratings from 5pm customers.
Those ratings tot up to give them both a whopping combined score of 4.4/5. This is what a couple of recent visitors to Cafe Andaluz West End thought of their experiences:
‘Good choice of dishes on the deal menu, wine was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great. Restaurant was busy even on a Tuesday night. We tried prawns, scallops, pork, beef and chicken – all delicious. Would definitely recommend.’ Rating 5/5
‘Beautiful food in beautiful surroundings a real flavour of Spain. We loved it.’
Available from noon to 10pm, Sunday to Thursday, this offer would make for a great lunch, a pre-theatre meal or a splendid dinner with friends.
