Beautifully renovated and re-opened in 2010, the Grand Central is one of Glasgow’s landmark hotels and, over the years, it has welcomed everyone from Churchill to Frank Sinatra.

Since 2010, it has scooped several awards – many of them for the quality of its food.

Private dining

With today’s Big Deal, you and seven friends, family or colleagues can enjoy a luxurious dining experience in one of the private dining rooms at Tempus, the hotel’s restaurant.

As well as beautifully dressed tables, the offer includes chair covers and personalised menus – we said it was luxurious.

Each guest will be served a three course dinner from the Celebration menu, freshly prepared by the award-winning Tempus chefs.

The offer includes a half bottle of wine per person with tea, coffee and tablet to finish.

Option one is available for reservations between 5pm and 9.30pm, Sunday to Thursday.

Option two is available for reservations on Friday or Saturday when the private dining room can be booked for a sitting at 4pm or 8pm.

The 4pm sitting is for three hours and the room must be vacated by 7pm. The 8pm sitting gives guests use of the private dining room for the rest of the evening.

Of course, the party doesn’t have to end with coffee and tablet. With four week’s notice, tables in the Champagne Bar can be reserved for your party.

Up to 7 people can be added at £25 per person (not including wine) as the room can cater up to 15 people.

Seasonal ingredients

The menus at Tempus always feature locally sourced seasonal ingredients so the exact dishes available may change due to seasonal availability.

Typical main courses on the Celebration menu might be the seared chicken supreme with cherry tomatoes and grilled courgettes, spring onion mash, smoked garlic and a red wine chicken gravy or perhaps the fish of the day with roasted fennel, a fennel purée and tarragon beurre blanc.
