It’s not everyone’s cup of Rosy Lee but some people read the tea leaves at the bottom of the mug to try and tell the future.
The Big Deal team will leave the soothsaying to Mystic Meg and pals.
However, we don’t need a crystal ball to predict that today’s Big Deal on afternoon tea at the Millennium Lounge is going to be very popular.
Tea for 2
The deal is for two people to sit down to afternoon tea in the sophisticated setting of the Millennium Lounge, part of the Millennium Hotel on Glasgow’s George Square.
Also included in the deal is a glass of Prosecco because there’s nothing quite like a little fizz to loosen tongues and make a catch up session more enjoyable.
The selection will vary but typical sandwich fillings include smoked salmon and crème fraiche; cheddar cheese and tomato; egg mayonnaise and honey roast ham with tomato and coleslaw.
The freshly baked cakes are just as varied and might include cupcakes, brownies, profiteroles, strawberry tarts and, of course scones.
Get the goss
The location of the Millennium Lounge, right in the heart of Glasgow city centre, means that this Big Deal would be perfect for a refreshing pick-me-up in the middle of a shopping trip.
Alternatively, Mother’s Day may have passed but that’s no reason not to treat your Mum at Easter.
While on the subject of treats, it would also be the ideal way to spoil your pals by getting them all together for a goss over afternoon tea and a glass of Prosecco.
With tables available in the conservatory overlooking George Square, you can watch the world go by while your cakes and sandwiches slowly disappear.
