Café Source sits in the basement of St Andrew’s in the Square, one of Glasgow’s most beautiful church buildings.
It was a church for almost 250 years before it closed in 1990 and there have been no services in the building for a long time.
However, lots of people have given thanks for the dishes served in Café Source.
Make a pilgrimage to St Andrew’s Square with today’s Big Deal on a meal for two from their new menu.
Scotland’s finest produce
Café Source is a good looking, casual brasserie with a warm and welcoming ambience.
The kitchen brigade aims to showcase Scotland’s finest ingredients and the menus are packed with produce from Scotland’s most notable producers.
Their new menu launches on Friday 17th June and this Big Deal is the ideal way to give it a spin.
Available seven days a week, today’s Big Deal has two options. Option one is for two people to have any main course from the new 5pm Big Deal menu at Café Source.
Option two is for two people to have a three course meal from the menu.
From creamy Cullen skink to spicy haggis bon bons – made with Ramsay’s of Carluke haggis – there are some great Scottish flavours among the starters.
Alternatives might be the warm honeyed goat’s cheese and pear croute on sourdough bread or the oak-smoked salmon slider in a brioche bun with citrus cream cheese and a sweet chilli dressing.
There is a wide choice of main courses available for this offer. From beer-battered haddock and chips to Ramsay’s award-winning sausages with rumbledethumps, onion rings and gravy, the menu has plenty of great British bar classics.
Of course, there is also a selection of appetising burgers.
Other options might be the oven-roast breast of chicken with parmentier potatoes and a cabbage, ham hough and garden pea cream or the fresh mozzarella and pesto linguini with cherry tomatoes, onion, garlic, chilli and olive oil – all topped with rocket
We also love the idea of the slow braised beef linguini with crispy black pudding and Parmesan.
Popular desserts include the warm waffle with Nutella ice cream and white chocolate sauce plus the crème brûlée with raspberry coulis and shortbread.
If you are feeling especially summery, try the Café Source berry mess.
