As the Mongol hordes rampaged through the Western and Eastern worlds in the 13th century, they enjoyed taking a break from all the pillaging with a relaxed barbecue and cocktail session.

Legend tells of how the great Khublai Khan himself was renowned for his superb mixology skills, or at least none of his horde ever dared criticise his killer Martinis.

Relive those happy times with today’s Big Deal, offering a Cocktail Experience in the colourful surroundings of Khublai Khan’s Mongolian Barbecue Restaurant on Candleriggs in Glasgow’s Merchant City.

Exotic ingredients

Renowned for its distinctive and memorable atmosphere and for a menu that is eclectic to say the least, Khublai Khan’s makes a great choice for a catch-up with friends or a pre-show bite.

Today’s Big Deal offers a cocktail experience for one person to try three of the restaurant’s delicious cocktail creations, along with a starter or side dish from the Khublai Khan’s menu.

The sessions are around 90 minutes in length and are available on Thursdays from 6.30pm and Saturdays from 1pm or 3pm.

Group sizes are a maximum of six people.

Mix it up

House mixologist Laura will prepare your cocktails and let you have a go yourself. Select any three drinks from the innovative menu. Choose from the Candyfloss Martini made with Mongolian vodka, a Passion Fruit Mojito made with Bacardi, a Pink Lady made with Gordon’s gin or a Chocolate Orange Russian made with Mongolian vodka.

Your choice of a starter or side offers a great chance to discover the adventurous dishes on the Khublai Khan’s menu, with a choice of salt and pepper chips, wild boar dumpling, crocodile croquettes or spring rolls.
