Authentic Turkish food has gained a loyal following in Glasgow in recent years. The eternal dilemma about whether to opt for a shish or a doner has made way for an appreciation of the spicing and innovative menu combinations available from a culinary tradition that blends European and Asian influences.

Bosphorus Turkish Restaurant, venue for today’s Big Deal, is a great example of the new breed of Turkish restaurants. Their offer features a choice of deliciously-spiced, oven-cooked meat dishes to share, along with rice and salad.

Authentic Turkish dining

Bosphorus Turkish Restaurant may be handily located in the heart of Glasgow, but the warm ambience, colourful rugs and traditional Turkish décor immediately whisk you over to Istanbul.

Owner Ahmet has been on a mission to enlighten Scots about this delicious cuisine since he opened what was probably the country’s first Turkish restaurant back in 1981. Bosphorus is his latest venture, opening earlier this year.

The Big Deal option one is for a main course each from the following selection – sis kebab, chicken kebab, kofte kebab, Andana special kebab, Bursa kebab, special sote and musakka lamb or vegetarian.

Option two is for a whole leg of lamb to share. The spiced lamb is roasted in the oven, served with rice, salad and special sauce, and feeds up to four people.

The deal is available Sunday to Thursday from 5pm until 7.30pm.

Open just a few months, Bosphorus has already picked up positive reviews for its cuisine and service. These are recent comments from TripAdvisor:
