Which sentence most makes your heart leap? Is it, ‘I love you?’ Perhaps it’s, ‘It’s a boy/girl?’ Or even, ‘Scotland are through to the World Cup final?’
For us, it’s ‘Let’s do lunch’.
Leap into lunch with today’s Big Deal at the stylish Ingram Wynd restaurant in the Merchant City.
Hugely popular with 5pm diners, Ingram Wynd is a welcoming restaurant and bar on Ingram Street.
Covered in etchings, pictures, paintings and maps dating from the 19th century, the decor at Ingram Wynd is a treasure trove of local history while the restaurant delivers delicious contemporary cuisine.
Available seven days a week for lunch, the offer is for two people to each enjoy a dish from the Mains or Old Favourites section of the lunch menu at Ingram Wynd.
A soft drink for each guest is included in the offer.
The menus change regularly but popular dishes from the main section of the menu might be the haggis, smoked bacon & onion risotto; the pan fried Scottish salmon with new potatoes, veg & whisky sauce or the grilled marinated pork loin with mash and veg.
A taste of home, the Old Favourites include dishes like the Ingram sausage stovies; chicken stuffed with black pudding and, of course, the beer-battered white fish.
There is a £1.50 supplement for the dish of the day and catch of the day, and steak is excluded from this offer.
Ingram Wynd is a hit with 5pm users. Each time we have done a deal with the restaurant, it has sold faster than a politician forgetting a promise.
The restaurant’s popularity is reflected in its 5pm reviews. At the time of writing, over a thousand diners have given Ingram Wynd a formidable combined score of 4.3/5.
This is what a diner had to say recently on the 5pm Restaurants review page. We’ve cut it for length:
‘Good food and good service. Yet another Big Deal from 5pm brought me back to Ingram Wynd. Lovely Scottish Old Pub style, decor and ambience. Really nice varied menu on offer. Chose the pork loin and was not disappointed, Desserts lovely too. Generous helpings, tasty fresh food. Service really friendly and not annoying… Did not feel rushed at any time and were so comfy we sat on and had a couple of drinks. Will return without hesitation.’
