A little enclave of Espana on Hope Street, La Boca has a reputation for authenticity that sets it above run-on-the-mill tapas joints.
La Boca’s Spanish chefs use the finest imported ingredients and dish up the flavours of the old country in an atmosphere reminiscent of the best little bars of Madrid or Andalucia.
Tapas treat
Available Sunday from 1pm-7pm and Monday to Friday from noon until 8pm, the Big Deal option one is for two people to share five tapas. Option two adds in a choice of a medium glass of Spanish house wine or Cava each.
The wide-ranging tapas menu includes plenty of familiar favourites as well as some regional specialities. Highlights include the boquerones or marinated anchovies, spicy prawns, and the distinctive albondigas meatballs.
The pimientos de Padron are a Galician speciality, roasted baby green peppers, with an element of surprise as the occasional pepper can be fiery. Other vegetarian dishes include an authentic tortilla.
Gluten and wheat-free dishes are also available.
The deal excludes dishes from the grill section, and dishes from the fish section have a £1 supplement.
