Il Pavone is Italian for peacock.
If you love Italian food then this Big Deal with Il Pavone will have you shaking your tail feathers with glee.
Located on the ground floor of Princes Square on Buchanan Street, Il Pavone is a stylish, family-run, Italian restaurant.
In one form or another, there has always been an Il Pavone in Princes Square since the centre opened in the mid-Eighties.
Cooked to order
Today’s Big Deal on a meal for two is a great way to see how Il Pavone has been so successful for so long.
Available from 4pm to 9pm, Monday to Thursday, the offer is for two people to each have any pizza, pasta or risotto from the a la carte menu.
With more than twenty pasta dishes, fourteen pizza and six different risotto to choose from, all cooked to order, you will have no trouble finding a favourite.
We recommend the restaurant’s signature dishes. The penne vodka is a classic Il Pavone dish made with tomato sauce, cream, onions, ham and vodka.
You don’t taste the vodka. However, using it in the cooking process heightens the flavour of the tomatoes and other ingredients.
Or you could try the calzone, another of their signature dishes.
A delicious folded pizza filled with tomato, mozzarella, ham, pepperoni and chicken, this is a great meal for those who demand more than just a pizza.
The selection of risotto includes a porcini mushroom risotto; a Fiorentina – made with cream, chicken, spinach and Parmesan, plus the risotto verdi with cream, courgettes, broccoli, leeks, asparagus and Parmesan.
There is a £2 supplement for seafood dishes.
Having been in business for several decades, Il Pavone knows what their customers like and has the reviews to prove it. These were taken from the restaurant’s 5pm entry:
‘Very good. Very enjoyable as usual.’ Rating 4.6/5
‘Return visit and, as usual, were very pleased. Helpful waiters and good food.’ 4.8/5
Il Pavone is very conveniently located in the city centre which means that you could use this offer before catching a show at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall or The Pavilion.
You could use it to round off a hard day’s shopping or as part of a night out with friends and family.
Of course, if you haven’t been to Il Pavone before, this Big Deal would be a fantastic introduction to one of Glasgow’s longest running and best loved Italian restaurants.
