If your spelling is a bit dodge and you squint a bit then New County Hotel is a perfect anagram of ‘stylish city centre hotel which is ideal for a Perthshire mini-break’.
Celebrate the true meaning of hospitality with today’s Big Deal on a gourmet dinner, bed and breakfast break at the New County Hotel in Perth.
This tasty Big Deal is for two people to enjoy an overnight stay in the award-winning New County Hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Your two course dinner will be served in the rather fab Opus One Restaurant which, along with two AA Rosettes, has won the coveted Urban Restaurant of the Year Award at the Scottish Restaurant Awards.
Option 2 is for two people to stay for two consecutive nights at the New County Hotel on a B&B basis with a two course dinner in Opus One on the first night.
Run by the Boyle family, the New County Hotel is an elegant, modern hotel in the heart of Perth. As well as a warm welcome, guests can look forward to free WiFi throughout the hotel and flat screen TVS in all the stylish ensuite bedrooms.
Head Chef Romi Denesle worked at several Michelin star restaurants before making a splash at the New County’s Opus One restaurant.
His emphasis is on serving fresh, local produce with a French twist, an approach which has won him a number of awards.
The menus change regularly but typical dishes might be starters like the ham hough terrine served with pineapple salsa, a fried quail’s egg and micro-leaves or main courses such as the rump of Perthshire lamb with goat’s cheese pomme purée, black olive, wild garlic and lamb jus.
The New County Hotel has attracted lots of favourable reviews from the Scottish press. This is what the Scotsman had to say:
‘Opus One already boasts two AA Rosettes for its food and – after enjoying a Friday night treat under its mellow lighting – I suspect it won’t be too long before a third is won.
‘I could happily have savoured the cream of wild mushroom soup as a meal on its own … while the marmalade soufflé with gingerbread ice cream was heaven.”
‘The hotel’s rooms are comfy and surprisingly quiet given the hotel’s location at the heart of the Fair City.’
