Afternoon tea is served in the hotel’s whisky snug, which is furnished with leather armchairs, plump cushions and bookshelves lined with whisky. The perfect environment in which to enjoy a cosy autumn day.

The tea will start with a Kir Royale Champagne cocktail followed by a loose leaf pot of tea of your choosing accompanied by finger sandwiches, cream cake and a fruit or plain scone with strawberry preserve and fresh clotted cream.

The elegant surroundings are a world away from the building’s previous incarnation as 18th century lunatic asylum, Bedlam, and a science laboratory during the World Wars.
