Some Italians like to mark the New Year by wearing red underwear.
The tradition is said to bring good fortune for the next twelve months although lucky red pants have never worked for the Big Deal team.
However, we are convinced that today’s Big Deal with Mia Italian restaurant is a sure fire way of getting 2014 off to a fortunate start on the culinary front.
With vouchers valid from the 2nd of January until the 13th of February, this offer is a great way to experience Mia, a new Italian restaurant on Dalry Road.
This Big Deal would also make a great little stocking filler – a piping hot plate of delicious pasta is always welcome as the weather turns frosty.
Fresh, simple, Italian
At Mia, the kitchen likes to serve fresh, simple, Italian dishes in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Kid-friendly and with large windows that look out onto Dalry Road, Mia is great for people-watching over a leisurely lunch or enjoyable dinner.
A la carte
Available for lunch or dinner, seven days a week, this Big Deal is for two people to each choose a starter from the antipasti freddi starters section followed by a pasta or pizza dish from the a la carte menu.
The antipasti freddi section includes choices such as the classic prawn cocktail, a trio of salmon and the mixed selection of cured Italian meats and fresh buffalo mozzarella.
Pizza & pasta
The pizza on offer range from the classic Margherita to spicier options like the Diavola – topped with mozzarella, tomato and pepperoni. The house pizza is topped with spinach, cherry tomatoes and, of course, mozzarella.
There are nine different pastas to choose from. The spaghetti Bolognese and classic lasagne are sure to be a big hit while seafood lovers might want to choose the clam linguini. Vegetarian choices include the creamy porcini mushroom pasta and the spicy penne arrabiata.
Mia hasn’t been open long. That hasn’t stopped the glowing reviews from mounting up on TripAdvisor:
‘We had lunch at Mia last week. Excellent food and service, would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good value for money. If you haven’t been, try it. You won’t be disappointed.’
