Shakespeare wrote that music is the food of love. Fair enough, but while a specially compiled play list may be romantic, it isn’t very filling.
Take up today’s Big Deal with the new Kama Sutra restaurant in Edinburgh and you can show your partner how you feel about them with a spicy Indian feast.
Bag a Bhoona
Today’s Big Deal, or indeed Big Daal, is £10 for a £22 voucher to spend on the a la carte menu at the new Kama Sutra. The voucher can also be used against drinks as part of your meal.
The restaurant is on Edinburgh’s Lothian Road, just across from the Filmhouse and within a short walk of many theatres, concert halls and nightclubs.
Part of the Kama Sutra group, which already has branches in Stirling and a long established restaurant in Glasgow, the Edinburgh venture promises aromatic food, seductive music and sultry surroundings.
Extensive menu
It also features a mouth-watering range of authentic Indian dishes with enough choice to satisfy any spice lover.
Naturally, all the familiar old favourites such as chicken tikka masala and lamb Madras are there but so are more adventurous dishes.
The regional classics section has lamb shank recipes from Uttar Pradesh; biryanis from South India and spicy hot pots from the Himalayas.
Fish lovers are in for a treat with dishes like the scallops in a Goan coconut sauce or the Punjabi monkfish marinated in lime juice.
Veggies are well catered for with a dozen main courses such as the delicious masala dosa: a rice and lentil pancake stuffed with spicy potatoes and onions served with rice and sambal.
Curry lover’s delight
This Big Deal would be perfect for couples or a group of friends. Put simply, if you like curry then you will love this Big Deal.
The Kama Sutra in Edinburgh has not been open long and so it hasn’t been reviewed lots. However, this TripAdvisor review from a customer who visited in December speaks volumes:
‘We are very lucky in Edinburgh having some really splendid Indian Food eating establishments but this new addition (opened 16th November) is going to go straight to the hierarchy! My wife and I have been three times already and on each occasion enjoyed exquisitely tasty meals. Personally I prefer spicy hot dishes and here my taste buds were more than satisfied. Decoration has been thoughtfully done to create a pleasant ambience. Service is courteous and efficient which all adds up to an experience to happily recommend.’
