The six course taster menu changes daily but typical sample dishes might be a taster of smoked duck and berry compote followed by pressed belly of pork, apple jelly and walnut salad and then a pavé of lamb, roasted garlic and rosemary wilted greens, pan jus.

The food is complemented by an extensive wine list; many malt whiskies and a great selection of brews from Loch Fyne Ales.

‘Love it! We stayed at this hotel on a two night break. After booking in we walked into Inveraray. Nearly every shop we went in they asked where we were staying. When we told them they invariably replied “You are lucky the food there is fantastic”.
