We were staying in the hotel & had booked the boathouse for a lighter dinner since we were also dining out for lunch.
On our arrival our table wasn't ready but the staff were very apologetic & showed us to the lounge where we could order drinks. Our table was ready within 10 minutes. When it came to ordering the waiter informed me that there was no salmon which I had asked for & explained that I should have been told this when given a menu. This wasn't his fault as he didn't seat us & of course not his fault that there was no salmon, but someone must be to blame - a busy Saturday evening & you run out of probably one of the most popular fish dishes.
Anyway, I ordered an alternative & when it came it was delicious, as was my husband's meal. However the thick cut chips that we ordered came as fries along with another apology - they had run out of thick cut chips!!
Next time we'll stick to the cameron grill!
These things obviously didn't spoil our evening but for the price you pay in a restaurant like this you wouldn't expect these issues. The staff seemed very busy, possibly they are understaffed as I'd say only 70% of the tables were occupied when we were there.
