    Lovely lunch at Amaretto

I bought 2 vouchers so that 4 of us could have lunch at Amaretto in Bridge of Weir. From the minute we arrived, the waiter was friendly , attentive and helpful. There was plenty of choice on the menu and every item chosen was delicious, and served piping hot and beautifully presented. I'm definitely going back to the restaurant, as it was a super lunch and excellent dining experience.

Tasty Italian cooking

Amaretto’s menus offer a delicious variety of all the Italian favourites. There are numerous authentic antipasti dishes to start your meal, from sogliola fritta – deep fried fresh lemon sole strips, coated in a light batter, served on a bed of mixed leaves with a citrus mayonnaise dip – to the classic insalata tricolore – fresh creamy mozzarella with plum tomatoes & rocket leaves in an Italian dressing.

Mains cover stonebaked pizza and pasta dishes as you would expect as well as separate meat and fish dishes. Popular choices include pollo all’Italiana – supreme of chicken wrapped in bacon and stuffed with pesto, sundried tomato and mozzarella cheese, served in a garlic and Italian white wine sauce – and the filetto di spigola – pan-fried fillet of sea bass cooked in a lemongrass, spring onion and Italian white wine sauce.

If you have room for dessert the affogato speciale is well worth a try – two scoops of vanilla or chocolate ice cream topped with a shot of hot Italian espresso, amaretti biscuits and a drizzle of your favourite liqueur.
