Have eaten in The Opal on several occasions and have always been impressed with all aspects. This visit was no exception. The Terriyaki salmon with noodles was so well cooked and tasty. Have chosen this twice on recent visits. Service and ambience were also great.

Contemporary restaurant in South Lanarkshire

Tucked away in rural Lanarkshire, within the picturesque Clyde Valley, The Opal Restaurant is part of the Radstone Hotel. A restaurant and lounge set around a centrepiece bar, the space has a modern, contemporary feel and is open from breakfast through to dinner. Large glass panels framing fantastic views of the Clyde valley make every meal here a picture.

Global flavours

The kitchen at The Opal Restaurant takes its cue from the Mediterranean and further afield. The selection of starters includes Indonesian chicken skewers, steamed Scottish mussels and a selection of antipasti. As well as old favourites such as the steak pie and fish and chips, the main courses include pork belly cooked in oriental spices; a salmon Nicoise salad and a well thought out selection of pasta and stone-baked pizza. The ever popular grill section features a range of steaks while the burger selection includes a pulled pork version along with a prime steak burger served with smoked cheddar, bacon and onions.

Dessert lovers may wish to investigate the hot chocolate fudge cake or the pan-roasted pineapple which is served with caramel sauce plus a rum and raisin ice cream.

Please note offers must be booked 24 hours in advance for The Opal Restaurant.
