I've eaten at Andiamo on multiple occasions over the years however, although I've never been particularly wowed by what they offer, I wasn't expecting such a dreadful experience.
The food was pretty damn terrible: our starters consisted of overcooked asparagus (my partner actually found a piece of burnt remnants from the pan in amongst the dish) and tasteless salmon pasta parcels which were drowned in a tomato sauce, which honestly tasted like burnt bacon.
My main of "pan fried" chicken in a white wine and asparagus sauce was clearly prepared earlier as the sauce had the beginnings of a skin on it and the chicken was overcooked to the point of being stringy. I also can't believe a chef would be happy to present pre-cooked, shaped rice like that either; I could've cut through it with a knife!
My partner had a pasta dish which had also been prepared earlier and re-heated. Take note Andiamo; diners are not idiots. When a cream-based pasta sauce dish is dry, has taken on a yellowed tinge and is dripping in oil we know fine well that you've reheated it!
Thankfully the manager chose not to charge for my meals as I had returned the inedible chicken dish however this concession couldn't possible make up for such a thoroughly disappointing visit.
I wish I could say the service was better than the food, unfortunately not. We had to pour our own prosecco - I appreciate that's no terrible hardship but it did mean having to mop up pools of water from the ice bucket every time we topped up - and our waitress was rushed and impersonal.
Suffice to say, we won't be back.
