About VinYard 28
West End bar, kitchen and cocktails
With a name taken from its address on Vinicombe Street, VinYard 28 is a popular bar and kitchen in Glasgow’s West End. A white picket fence marks off a suntrap terrace at the front of the building. Inside, it’s a cool mix of recycled and vintage lighting, distressed brick and gorgeously chunky furniture.
Flexible menus with Med flavours
Open for lunch, brunch, tapas, evening meals and more, VinYard 28’s main menu is a flexible affair with many dishes available as small or main course portions. Italy and other Mediterranean countries provide much of the inspiration for dishes such as the bruschetta, mini-pizza or the pear, Gorgonzola and chicory salad. Pasta dishes like the crab and chilli linguine or ragu fusilli have many fans. Fish options might be the fritto misto or monkfish cheeks with Puy lentils.
The lunch and pre-theatre menu offers similar dishes albeit in a slightly more conventional starter, main, dessert format. Popular choices might be the ham and cheese croquette followed by steak frites with Café de Paris butter and double choc cheesecake to finish. Just as VinYard 28 has a dish for most occasions, the bar staff are equally as happy to shake up a cocktail to suit any hour, event or meal.
