Authentic Polish restaurant

Found on Parkgrove Terrace, U Jarka has been warmly described as being like a Polish farmhouse kitchen. It certainly projects a welcoming, homely feel and attracts plenty of Polish ex-pats keen for a taste of home as well as native Scots and other nationalities.

Classic Polish dishes prepared with care

The menu at U Jarka Restaurant is not extensive but it offers a great range of traditional Polish dishes. Naturally, there are several classic soups such as sour rye and beetroot, or borsch. The potato pancakes come with beef stew, mushroom sauce or as a starter with sour cream.
Main courses include breaded pork chops, lamb kebabs and dish of duck with apple and cranberry sauce. Fans of bigos, a hearty hunter’s stew made with meat and sauerkraut, will not be disappointed. Lighter options might be the fried trout with almonds. Vegetarian options include the pierogi, or dumplings, stuffed with potatoes and cottage cheese or cabbage and mushrooms.
