This place still qualifies as my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. The reason? The quality of meat, excellent service and superb value. Wine list is top drawer, too.
Our latest visit left us very slightly underwhelmed by the steak, but otherwise was still excellent. Service impeccable (they were great with our two kids, one of whose birthday it was) and value for money is great. The kids' menu is brilliant and for the price they get a good sized piece of steak.
Only negatives: (1) the rump was definitely tougher than it has been in the past (not helped by the shape of the cut) but the flavour was as superlative as always. (2) they veer towards the "French" assessment of welldone-ness... which meant my father had to send his back (although he was given a completely fresh plate of food rather than just cooking the previous steak through a bit more). I waver between blue and rare and had ordered mine rare, so was pretty happy. It was definitely bluer than it was rare though...
Overall, a great restaurant and a definite "returner" still. Not quite as perfect as for previous visits, but still outstanding.
