These are hard times for restaurants and we had this sitting all to ourselves. In the past we have had excellent a la carte dinners and prix fixe lunch and pre-theatre of high quality an good value. At weekends, during the day though, the restaurant has twice let itself dowm.
The Scrabster saithe was fine and the chunky chips fried in their skins should have been a perfect accompaniment. Also, the restaurant's signature dish of baked Limerick ham was tired and overdone.
By all means give this restaurant a go. With great reluctance, however, the advice has to be try somewhere else for lunch on Saturday/Sunday.
