Gorgeous decor, delicious food, attentive and accomodating staff - this amazing little place really does have it all!
I originally booked a table in this fabulous little restaurant as an interesting new place to take a couple of friends for dinner, knowing virtually nothing about it save what could be gleaned from a couple of photos online. But trust me, its current online presence does not remotely do it justice. From the moment my partner and I arrived we were made to feel so welcome, which was all the more lovely as we began the evening by asking to change the time of our reservation as one of our party was running late. The proprietress and her staff were all utterly charming and attentive (graciously accomodating our reservation change and even going out of their way to find extra heaters later when one of our party was feeling a little chilly), and the food was simply amazing. Literaly everything we ordered was delicious - even the complimentary house wines were lovely, which is something not many restaurants can boast. I was particularly impressed by the macaroni cheese (possibly the best in Glasgow), and the French bread and butter pudding was to die for! In addition to all this, when the bill came, we were stunned at how little our meal had come to - for the quality of food and service, The Mad Platter really can not be beaten. If you're looking for quirky decor, delicious home-cooked food, friendly service and excellent value for money, please give this new resaturant your support. It definitely deserves it!
