Roastit Bubbly Jocks is a modern Scottish restaurant on Dumbarton Road in Partick, Glasgow. Named after the old Scots for a roasted turkey, it was established in 2002 as a friendly neighbourhood restaurant in the West End of Glasgow. The kitchen specialises in traditional and modern Scottish cuisine with a nod towards French and continental cooking.
“Keep it simple and let the flavours of the food speak for themselves” is the motto at Roastit Bubbly Jocks. Good quality, local beef, lamb, pork, game and seafood are all used inventively and presented in imaginative fashion. The lunch, a la carte and market menus change regularly and there are always daily specials as well as a Sunday roast at this cosy Partick restaurant.
Typical dishes range from Dingwall haggis, neeps and tatties to dishes of seared venison; scallops and langoustines; slow-cooked pork belly with fennel seed and smoked paprika or chicken stuffed with Stornoway black pudding. Brunch is also on offer with the traditional full Scottish breakfast or the classic eggs Benedict.
Roastit Bubbly Jocks is at the Crow Road end of Dumbarton Road in Partick. There are numerous bus routes to Glasgow city centre from Dumbarton Road and Partick subway station is a short walk.
