Rioja Review

  • Rating Mediocre Tapas Bar - Over Priced and Over Crowded (Rating 2.2/5)
I visited Rioja for lunch. The Gambas al ajillo were very tasty however I would not be able to recommend either the Calamres a la Romana or the Chuletitas de cordero. The Mussels in the Mejillones al vapor were very gritty however was advised that this was not always the case and varied throughout the year. The service was ok however I felt pretty cramped sitting down with the table next to us being too close for comfort. I went on a weekend at 4pm, we ordered 3 tapas and 2 drinks each and our bill came to just over £60. This was a very expensive lunch and although the tapas were decent portion sizes compared to other tapas bars in the area I did not leave feeling full which you would expect for this much.
