5 stars, amazing steak
Myself and my son had the sharing steak, it was amazing, did not disappoint, staff were so friendly, turned up early for booking and we were welcomed in, not a problem. My son says it's the best place he has been to and we eat out a lot. Will defo be back very soon.

Contemporary steakhouse and cocktails in Finnieston
Part of the Finnieston strip of Argyle Street, Porter & Rye is one of the chic and hip restaurants which have been responsible for the area’s burgeoning culinary reputation over the last few years. Intimate and flatteringly dimly lit, it has a stylish decor that is half old school Manhattan steak house and half post-industrial warehouse. It is a small space which is cleverly split between the bar and dining areas on the ground floor and mezzanine level. Rockabilly and early rock ‘n’ roll keep the atmosphere lively and the extensive offering of innovative cocktails and esoteric bourbons don’t hurt either.
Carefully sourced steaks dry-aged in-house
Porter & Rye carefully source the finest Scotch beef and dry age it in-house for a minimum of 50 days, sometimes up to 120 days. This beef is available in several cuts, some designed for sharing, and served with sides, sauces and the customer’s choice of steak knife.
While the steaks are at the centre of Porter & Rye menus, they also like to use local foraged ingredients in dishes such as the starter of Glenlethnot rabbit saddle with rabbit haggis, slow cooked leg, jus roti and girolle mushrooms. The Sunday roast is always popular.
Finnieston transport and attractions
Porter & Rye is at the Finnieston end of Argyle Street. There is limited on-street parking and several bus routes go to and from the city centre from outside the restaurant. Kelvinhall is the nearest subway. The SECC, Hydro and Kelvingrove Gallery and Museum are all within easy walking distance.
