5 of us ate here just recently and I have to say the place is good value for money, the portion sizes are american, if your not a big eater a starter and a dessert would be enough. They do not sell beer or wine but you can bring in your own and you only pay for corkage which is a great idea. Service was excellent the staff were friendly. I would certainly go back and they even deliver!!!
The food was excellent, the decor and ambience charming for the festive period, staff were attentive and polite - a great experience
American diner in West End
Po’Boyz American Diner and Grill serves southern soul food inspired by New Orleans. The address may be Broomhill Shopping Centre but the food is rooted in the Cajun culinary traditions of the southern United States. The decor is simple with booth seating, a recycled wooden bar and a mural that tells the tale of how the po’boy sandwich came into being.
Classic dishes from southern States
Naturally, the po’boys submarine sandwiches are prominent on the menu at Po’Boyz American Diner and Grill. Filled with pulled pork, chicken, beef brisket, prawns or veggies, they are made from freshly baked ciabatta. The menu also offers a range of burgers, hot dogs and the chance to design your own pizza. Dixie battered catfish and chips, buffalo wings, ribs in BBQ sauce and slow cooked chicken jostle for attention with a Creole jambalaya and gumbo – the famous New Orleans stew.
If you have a sweet tooth then you will love the shakes which are flavoured with Bounty Bars, Kit Kats and Oreos, among others. Alternatively, tuck into a dessert like the deep-fried cheesecake and, of course, the apple pie and ice cream. The restaurant does not currently have a licence to serve alcohol, however please feel free to bring your own bottle (corkage fee £3).
