Owned and run by the renowned Giovanazzi family since 1978, La Parmigiana is widely considered to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Glasgow. The combination of fine dining, authentic Italian cuisine and locally sourced ingredients has ensured the popularity of the Kelvinbridge restaurant.
La Parmigiana’s elegant decor and sophisticated cuisine means it is the place to dine for a very special occasion. It is regularly included in food critics’ lists of Glasgow’s top restaurants. Celebrities obviously agree – previous guests have included Lionel Richie, Sex and the City’s Kim Cattrall, and Scottish film star Dougray Scott.
Italian cuisine with Scottish slant
La Parmigiana is a restaurant for those who know and love Italian food. The menu offers a Scottish slant on Italian dishes, such as fritto mist di mare all’Italiana, deep fried mixture of fish and shellfish, and chateaubriand al Barolo granite, 500g prime fillet of Scotch beef, roasted and carved served with a rich barolo sauce. The restaurant’s pasta dishes, created using its own homemade pasta, change regularly according to what ingredients are in season.
Italian cuisine is famous for its decadent desserts of which La Parmigiana does not disappoint. Previous desserts in La Parmigiana have included pecorino cheese with honey, hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream and the Italian staple, tiramisu.
