Had a Champagne lunch gifted to us, so this was as painless as dining out gets. Welcomed by pleasant staff. Enjoyed the ambiance of the setting and settled in to a comfortable settee. My wife was disappointed that there was no more creative non-alcoholic alternatives to champagne that "te usual soft drinks". This is better managed in France and Germany these days with a wide choice on non-alcoholic wines and beers.Conducted through to the dining room which has recovered well from its plastic fit-out traumas in the days of "Room", albeit not to the standard of the original carpentry. Friendly and attentive service provided by two young ladies who brought our selections from the "Champagne table d'hote menu. Dishes nicely presented with the quality of the food and preparation more than acceptable. As one would expect from Hotel du Vin the wine choice is extensive but once again the lack of a non-alcoholic wine option is disappointing. Nevertheless a very enjoyable dining experience.
