Grosvenor Cafe Review

  • Rating Great apart from the spicy 'stew' (Rating 4/5)
Lovely meal. Got the 2 courses and a cocktail deal. Great service. We came for my friend's 30th. Birthday cake that I had brought in the day before was produced promptly after dessert. However, what kind of ruined the meal for me was a lentil and squash 'stew' that I ordered. I say 'stew' because it was more like a very, very hot curry. This was not highlighted on the menu. In my opinion it was inedible. I have a high threshold for spicy food but this was ridiculous and everybody at the table agreed. Thus a main course which consisted mainly of rice was a bit of a let down! Highlighted to the waitresses after the meal and they were very nice about it. Being an introverted Brit, did not send it back but probably should have, so feel a wee bit bad criticising them on here and overall a great meal. The cocktails were delicious!
