About Curlers Rest
Great food and deal
Lovely food and lovely place to enjoy lunch or dinner. Service was quite slow because there wasn't enough staff on, not their fault though and they were lovely and helpful. Would eat here again.
Great wee place to eat
My expectations were quite low, as it was only a pub! I thought it would be typical pub grub! How wrong could I have been!! I chose the set meal for £11 for 3 courses! What amazing value for money!! Great food, fantastic choice, great service thanks Stevie! Will definitely be back soon!
Historic West End bar with great British pub grub
Curler’s Rest may be the West End’s oldest bar but it’s sure looking good for its age. With local art on the walls, stripped floors and an open fire, it is an inviting mix of vintage charm and 21st century comforts. The smart upstairs seating area, with its big oak tables, is ideal for meals with friends while the vibrant downstairs bar is a beer lovers’ paradise.
Seasonal and modern bar food
As well as a great range of ales, wines and ciders, Curler’s Rest offers classic bar meals and an interesting menu of bar snacks – think Gloucester Old Spot sausage rolls and salt ‘n’ pepper squid. Seasonal ingredients, cooked to order and served simply is the ethos at Curler’s Rest. The pork and chorizo burger is a staff favourite as are the wild salmon fishcakes. The cider and tarragon battered cod and skin-on chips also have plenty of fans. The Sunday roasts are tempting too. Diners can choose from 21-day aged beef with Yorkshire pudding, Shropshire chicken, Norfolk pork with crackling or a cashew, walnut and cheddar nut roast.
West End attractions and transport links
Within easy walking distance of Kelvingrove Park, the Botanic Gardens and concert venues such as Oran Mor, Curler’s Rest is on Byres Road, the heart of Glasgow’s West End. Numerous bus routes serve the area and Hillhead subway station is two minutes away. There is limited on-street and pay parking nearby.
