The service was fine, the waiter was friendly and polite. However, the food was very disappointing. The menu differed from the 5pm menu, annoying but I understand that this happens sometimes. Was disappointed that the chorizo in the sea bream main was the slices of chorizo you get out of a packet from the supermarket. However, the biggest issue was portion size. The portions were tiny. When the waiter came to take our plates away, I asked whether the portions were usually this small or whether it was because we'd ordered the 5pm menu. He said he thought it was maybe because of the 5pm menu. I then expressed my unhappiness at the fact this wasn't advertised. The waiter then said that actually he thought the portion sizes were normal. Well, I would NEVER pay the full price charged by Cottiers for a piece of sea bream barely more than 4cm squared in size. I told the waiter this, and while I am aware he was only doing his job, I was disappointed that he didn't offer to discuss this any further, offer any consolation or offer an opportunity to speak to the manager or chef. All in all, an utterly disappointing experience. When you don't get the chance to eat out often it is sad to have such a poor experience. £40 to leave hungry and unsatisfied.
