Bukharah Review

Took my mum for lunch today.. This lovely restaurant never fails to delight. A fabulous menu, delicious fresh food beautifully cooked. This restaurant serves the best of food- you will not be disappointed. Starters:- Poppadoms and a selection of delicious dips including a wonderful mango chutney-- Crispy, fresh and hot --- marks 5/5 1. Chicken pakora, freshly cooked and served with fresh, crisp salad and a selection of lovely dips. -- if I could I would give this 6/5. 2. ChapliKebab-- a stunning little spiced pattie of minced chicken & lamb. This just melts in the mouth. definitely 5/5 Mains:- 1. Chicken Tikka chasni-- a mild, creamy chicken dish served with the fluffiest rice- 5/5 2. Chicken biryani- great flavour & very tasty, the only let down on this occasion was the sauce, I asked for curry sauce an was given what seemed to be a watery, bland "daal" type sauce.. not the wonderfully rich "proper" curry sauce I have had previously. So for that reason I can only mark it 3.5/5. The nann bread was fab.. one of the best we have had in a very long time-hot,fresh with a wonderful toasted flavour-- again definitely 5/5. We were so full we couldn't finish even half the mains but even then still great value for the quality and presentation alone. So no desserts today, just coffees - lovely, frothy and again, something I LOVE about the restaurant.. large, proper cups of coffee- not these silly little "2 mouthful cups" that some places serve. I marked the food as a 4 instead of a 5 because of the biryani sauce and the ambience as a 4 because it was again very quiet. The staff were excellent.. professional, friendly and welcoming - the only hiccup was that I had to "remind" the waiter, after about 5 mins or so that we were still waiting for drinks- a small issue, not enough to mark this lovely down on. We love the restaurant.. the décor-classic and stylish and food fresh & delicious.
