Oh dear. I had always been intrigued by this place at the top of Byers Road because it looks so nice from the outside. When we entered it had the air of a deserted settlement - but it being a Monday night that wasn't too surprising. We were shown our table, and it was then we realised that the 5pm deal wasn't a deal at all - just their normal price for the market menu! Okay, still a pretty good deal to have 19 quid for 3 courses. The service was actually very good - the waitresses we had couldn't have been more attentive, which was the only thing that redeemed this place. When the food arrived (we had the black pudding) where the underside was completely carbonated - totally burnt to a crisp. Mains were okay and dessert was unremarkable. To cap off a bland meal, at the end when we got our bill, they had tried to charge us for 4 people dining rather than 2! Thankfully we noticed the mistake before we paid. Overall - not recommended, won't be back. Shows you can't judge a book by its cover because from the look of the place we were expecting great things! Pity.
