Bibi’s Cantina opened in Partick in November 2007. It has quickly become a firm favourite with its discerning West End local clientele and has brought its own individual interpretation of Mexican cuisine to an area which has begun to gain a reputation as a place to find great independent restaurants.
Lovingly produced hand made tiles, Latin inspired art work and Mexican clay masks are all well chosen homages to a rich and colourful culture and make Bibi’s a vibrant yet exceptionally relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy the wonderfully rich and spicy food.
Try the Mexican meatball soup – glisteningly deep with tiny herby meatballs. The hearty Mexican stew is packed with chicken, beef and bacon with crusty bread to mop up the excellent gravy. A chunky firm piece of cod is marinated in tequila and coriander and served with flour tortillas and garlic and chilli diced potatoes. Delicious frozen margaritas and Mexican beers are on hand to wash everything down.
Well informed, friendly staff are on hand to advise and resident singer & percussionist Ricardo Fernandez delights every Sunday evening from 7-9pm with his traditional Cuban songs.
