Athena Greek Taverna Review

  • Rating Good value lunch (Rating 4.4/5)
This was my second visit to Athena Greek Taverna, but a first for lunch. The service was very attentive and we were never left waiting long for anything. The menu was fairly varied, we enjoyed the dolmades and the soup (though it was served as half a bowlful), with the accompanying pitta bread being a highlight. Mains were a bit more hit and miss, with the beef stew coming out on top, and the pork skewers faring on the dry side (could have done with some stronger marinade as well). The desserts were very good, with the rice pudding in particular being a delightful surprise with the orange zest being a good combination with the cinnamon. We were seated near the door and would have preferred to have a better table further inside the restaurant, but it didn't dent our experience much at all.
