Ashoka Argyle Street (West End) Review

  • Rating Just needs a little polish! (Rating 3.4/5)
Been to Ashoka W.E a few times and absolutely love their food. For my visit I got the £20.99 deal for two, which is great value. Decided to add some nan bread on which in hindsight was a mistake (£2.50 for heated up bread...). When we got there we were informed that the seating was downstairs due to the painting work upstairs - which was disappointing (as other places in the service industry I have worked at, they have painted overnight to avoid disruption...) as the downstairs is pokey and windowless. It is also very dark and has a bit of a strange atmosphere where you can hear every single diners conversations etc. The service was good from our female server but was a bit irritating to have to flag over water and then not be brought any cups(!). The use of reflective/mirrored silverware for the water was daft as it was very hard to see what water was pouring and where it was going - resulting in a wet dinner! Overall I like Ashoka W.E and would go back, but the things mentioned above could be done with looking into :)
