Visited The Waverley Tea Room with my wife - we popped in about 6pm for some food and drinks (we picked up a 30% off food deal beforehand).
It was very quiet when we arrived so we were able to choose where to sit - we were in the bar area rather than the conservatory. There's a variety of types of seating from booths to sofas to wooden tables and chairs.
The waitress was very attentive (even when it got busier) and we ordered drinks while checking out the menu. The menu is very "pub grub" with fish and chips, steak and ale pie, burgers and mac cheese all available, among other things. We skipped starters and went for fish and chips and the steak pie. The food didn't take long to arrive and we both cleared our plates - the food was fairly ordinary but not in a bad way - it was what you would expect to see and was very tasty!
We ordered some dessert and more drinks before leaving about 7:30pm.
All in all, it was a very pleasant evening, and not particularly expensive either (helped by the 30% off voucher).
I'd certainly recommend here for a nice, no-nonsense pub meal and a few drinks!
