Rating Nice food - but slow. (Rating 3.4/5)
Good menu choices to suit everyone on both set and a la carte menus. Food - when it eventually arrives - is very nice and well presented. Can't beat the steak pie - loads of it and very tasty. Other highlights included the scallops - although as they'd run out of pork belly they looked very sparse on a large plate with small pieces of (substitute) black pudding. Desserts were fabulous - very large and filling portions. Our only gripes were: Firstly, on a quiet Wednesday night our pre-booked table of 7 was sat with our backs to the main door/toilets - draughty and doors banging all the time. Despite only having 4/5 other tables to serve, the time between ordering and presenting the food was really too slow - particularly given we had children at the table. Lastly our separate order of vegetables was completely forgotten - and not mentioned until we brought it up when ordering puddings.
